New American Bible

The New American Bible, first published in 1970, is an English translation of Sacred Scripture from the original biblical languages, carried out by members of the Catholic Biblical Association of America under the sponsorship of the U.S.

bishops' Confraternity of Christian Doctrine.

The Revised Edition (NABRE), released in 2011, incorporates updates to the Old Testament based on the best available manuscripts and includes book introductions, outlines, and extensive study notes for better understanding of the historical, cultural, and literary context.
