IDF Diabetes Atlas

The IDF Diabetes Atlas, first published in 2000 and now in its 11th edition (2025), is a comprehensive and authoritative source of evidence on the global prevalence of diabetes, related morbidity and mortality, and diabetes-related health expenditures.

It presents data at national, regional, and global levels, incorporating rigorous epidemiological methods and high-quality data sources.

The Atlas also covers diabetes pathophysiology, classification, diagnostic criteria, and offers information on prevention and management strategies.

Co-chaired by Professor Dianna Magliano, the Atlas serves as a critical advocacy tool to inform policy and healthcare initiatives worldwide.
