Once there, they become involved with General Alcazar and his band of anti-government rebels known as the Picaros.
The narrative explores themes of political revolution, moral ambiguity, and the hypocrisy behind cycles of revolution and counter-revolution in South America.
This was the last complete Tintin adventure written by Hergé, taking more than ten years to complete.
