Rocket fantastic

Rocket Fantastic (Persea Books, 2017) is a sequence-driven collection in which Gabrielle Calvocoressi animates figures—The Bandleader, The Dowager, The Major General, siblings and guardians—to investigate bodily transformation, eroticism, and identity; the book uses mythic and musical motifs and a nonbinary pronoun symbol for a central character to subvert conventional gender language and probe pleasure, grief, and presence in contemporary life.
